Caledonia police say a young woman stole her boyfriend's mom's jewelry so he could sell it.
A Caledonia man was duped into selling his mother's jewelry after police say his girlfriend stole the pieces but told him they belonged to her mother. Angela Sienko, 23, of South Milwaukee, was formally charged Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court with one misdemeanor count of theft, movable property. If convicted, she could face up to nine months in jail and/or up to $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint, Caledonia police were called to a home in the 8800 block of Douglas Avenue on Jan. 15 for a report of theft. Caledonia Police say the two men had loaded up fencing into their truck and had intended on selling it to a local scrap yard, but they got stuck in the mud.
A Caledonia man and Racine man were arrested for criminal trespassing, and theft after they allegedly took some fencing just before 2 p.m. Wednesday from Mulligan’s Mini Golf, 6633 Douglas Ave, Caledonia Police said. Lt. Gary Larsen, of the Caledonia Police Department, said the two men “tried to help themselves” to some fencing that was on Mulligan’s property when Debbie Ladwig, who owns the business, saw the two men and called the police. The two men had gotten the truck they were driving stuck and had asked a friend to help pull them out. The two men were going to take the fencing to a scrap yard to get money. The two other people in the second truck were also cited for trespassing, Larsen said.

A 42-year-old Racine contactor is accused of taking money from a Caledonia woman and never performing work he promised. Michael L. Ottelien was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of theft by false representation If convicted, he faces up to 1½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: A woman contacted the Caledonia Police Department after she hired Otterlien’s company, Ottelien Decorating and Remodeling LLC, to put a new roof on her home and the work was never performed. A Racine man is accused of stealing wreaths from Mount Pleasant homes then going to homes in Caledonia to sell them, claiming the wreaths came from the Boy Scouts.
A Racine man is accused of taking Christmas wreaths from Mount Pleasant homes, then going door-to-door in Caledonia trying to sell them. Israel Bentancourt, 35, was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Monday with one count of obstructing an officer. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. A trio of shoppers tried to take advantage of a BOGO sale—buy one, get one—at Best Buy on Saturday. Make that buy one, get two. Only problem was there was no such sale. Three individuals were arrested for retail theft after police say they purchased one $300 television and then attempted to use the receipt from that purchase to walk out with two more identical televisions. According to the Greenfield Police Department report, a 22-year-old Caledonia man purchased the initial television, loaded it into the backseat of his vehicle and then handed the receipt to his 21-year-old female accomplice from West Allis. A 49-year-old Racine woman is accused of stealing a man’s food stamp and bankcards, then chasing his nephew around a Caledonia parking lot wielding shards of glass. Pamela A. A 37-year-old Lac du Flambeau man is accused of stealing electronics from his sister-in-law’s Caledonia apartment after she let him stay with her for a couple of days. Sean E. Meshigaud was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Monday with one count of theft, one count of bail jumping and one count of felony bail jumping. A 46-year-old Sturtevant man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught stealing razor blades on multiple occasions from area Pick ‘n Save stores. Bervis D. Sallis was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Wednesday with five counts of theft. If convicted, he faces up to 45 months in prison and $50,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Sept. 28, Caledonia police officers were called to Pick ‘n Save after Sallis went into the store and took six four carton packs of Gillette Fusion razor blades and left the store without paying. Burglary Someone damaged a doorframe and took a gas power washer from a garage sometime before 2:34 p.m. Friday in the 6100 block of East Frontage Road. The estimated value of the power washer is $350 and the estimated damage is $150. A garage was burglarized and a bicycle was taken from a garage sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Ellis Ave. Theft Obama and Tammy Baldwin political signs were taken from a residence in the 4900 block of Charles Street sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, the homeowner told police that several signs were taken two weeks ago.
