Woman Accused of Stealing $20K in Goods From a Caledonia Home

Suspect told police she stole jewelry, sports memorabilia and other items so she could raise money to help her brother with his legal bills.

A 27-year-old Franksville woman is facing felony charges after she stole more than $20,000 in cash, jewelry and memorabilia from a Caledonia home so she could pay her brother’s legal bills. Holly R. Bankenbush was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of felony theft of more than $10,000 in items. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: A Greenfield police officer investigating transactions at area pawn shops found Bankenbush had made six transactions since August at a store, selling items believed to be above her income level. Suspect In Wallet Theft Used Credit Cards In Caledonia

Theft happened in Greenfield, but the cards got used at gas station here.

Caledonia and Greenfield police are looking for a woman they suspect was involved with the theft of a wallet in Greenfield and one of the credit cards was used in Caledonia. They released a photo of the woman to media outlets today. A wallet, which belonged to a Greendale woman, was found on top of the garbage at the Mobile gas station, 13600 Seven Mile Road at 9 p.m. Nov. 10, 2011. The owner of the wallet told police that her wallet had been stolen from her while she was at Pick’n Save, on 76th Street and Coldspring Road in Greenfield after 1:30 p.m. Caledonia Police worked with the Greenfield Police Department to identify a silver colored mini-van being at the gas station, which coincides the time that the gas was pumped on the stolen …

CRIME BLOTTER: Vandals, Thief And Burglar Hit A Number Of Residences On Caledonia's East Side

The following information was supplied by the Caledonia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Someone took LED house numbers from a residence sometime between 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and 12:54 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 6500 block of Meadow Dale Lane. Damage was estimated at $110. A four-foot tall wooden fence was spray painted with the letters “S D” sometime between 9 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10:41 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 5700 block of Winstar Lane. Damage was estimated at $40. The rear window of a 1989 Mitsubishi Target was smashed sometime between 4 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 3200 block of Great Oakes Drive. Damage was estimated at $300. A window was smashed and spray-painted the building with the phrase “262 CREW” sometime before 8:27 a.m. Nov. 6 at the old Western Publishing building, 5945 Erie St. The estimated damage is $2,000. CRIME BLOTTER: Missing Urinal And Drive Mats, And A Driver Is Cited For Running A Stop Sign

A man’s urinal was discovered missing at 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 from Gorney Park, 8225 Nicholson Road. According a report by the Caledonia Police Department, a contractor was cutting the grass at the park and went to use the bathroom when he realized the facilities were a bit inadequate. The estimated cost of the 3 and a half-foot tall urinal is $1,000. A semi crashed into a car after the driver of the car had pulled out in front of the semi at 5:31 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 on Highway V at Northwestern Avenue. According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Donna Stewart, 50, of Racine, was arrested for operating a vehicle after revocation, failure to yield the right of way, and not having insurance. Police news from the Caledonia Police Reports: God Really Was Watching Three cars belonging to the nuns living at the Siena Center, 5635 Erie St., were vandalized by a group of teens sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. Thursday, July 14. The maintenance staff told police a video surveillance camera caught the group walking through a parking lot, one of the boys picked up a wooden bench and threw it at the cars. Police are still investigating the matter. The Mailbox Smashing Continues A street post, and sign were taken out of the ground, and thrown onto the back window of a car at 5:58 a.m. Thursday July 14, 5380 Hunt Club Road in Wind Point.  A mailbox was also smashed on top of another car.
