Patch Names 'Cutest Couple' Winner

Love is in the air and Patch is here to help share those fuzzy feelings on the interwebs. Take a look at all the great comments shared about these couples and just who took the title, Patch's Cutest Couple.

Brad Rosenbaum and Jenny Sproehlich of Menomonee Falls will enjoy dinner at a Port Washington restuarant after winning Patch's Cutest Couple Valentine's Day contest. The 15 Patch sites in southeastern Wisconsin invited couples to post their photos online and asked readers to vote on their favorites. We received more than 70 nominations of couple of all ages, and more than 100 votes. Brad and Jenny earned 25 votes to take home the prize: a $40 gift card for a romantic dinner donated by The Pasta Shoppe in Port Washington. As Brad explained, that restaurant has special meaning for the couple: Jenny and I first met at the Pasta Shoppe, which is way too big of a coincidence for this contest! Vote for me and I....promise not to bring politics …

He Would Do Anything For Love, But Not That…OK, Maybe

Love can make you do strange things and sometimes on Valentine's Day, things are a little stranger than normal.

A homeowner found out that his wife’s ex-husband had been living in their garage and he called the police at 9:39 a.m. Feb. 14. The 57-year-old homeless man was living in his ex-wife’s garage in the 2500 block of St. Rita’s Road for six months without her new husband’s permission, according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department. The owner of the home told police that the man’s belongings were “piling up in the garage and in the house” and he complained that he doesn’t pay any rent. However, the ex-husband gets mail at the residence and the woman’s new husband told police that he wants him out of the house.   Still, the officer explained the eviction process and the homeowner told the ex-husband he could stay...for now.

How They Met: Ken Hoover and Kim Jacobson

They found love on the racetrack.

"The One" is standing right in front of you when you are not really looking.  That was true for me and my boyfriend, Ken, over seven years.  In the summer of 2003,  I was going through a divorce.  In need of a distraction, I went to watch my brother at the racetrack, and saw Ken by my brother's car, his face full of grease.  My heart fluttered.  We hung out that night, began dating not long after that, and have built a life together. My heart still flutters when he walks in the door with grease on his hands or face.

A Testament of Love: Denise and Jon Predney

This couple endured tragedy, but still triumphs in love.

Jon and I will be married seven years on February 14, 2011.  We have lost babies and dealt with life threatening illness,  all of this during the first few years of marriage. In those scariest moments he took charge and took my share of work.  He never complained or seemed worried. He is my best friend, my therapist, and my greatest love.  He has given me three beautiful sons. He humbles me everyday when I see the love he has for our children and for me. He also never tells me no!   Sincerely Denise E. Predny

How They Met: Brian and Melissa Schroeder

The blind date went badly, but ended well.

I met my husband Brian while on a blind date with another guy!  I was supposed to meet "Craig" at his work and go out for drinks afterwards.  I had never been on a blind date and reluctantly agreed when my girlfriend swore that Craig was my soul mate.  When I got to the shop Craig worked at, he was SO shy that he refused to say more than 2 words at a time.  Brian worked with Craig and saw how horribly things were going.  He came over to help smooth things over and get Craig talking and we began chatting, Craig ran like a scared little girl...  Brian and I talked for 2 hours and as he walked me to my car, apologizing for his co-worker, he asked for my number.  We've been inseparable ever since.  That was 13 years ago.  We've been married …

Movies to Watch with Your Sweetheart

Our best picks so you can focus on watching the movie and not search for a movie.

Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year, probably the least romantic day of the week. And there's still the day before Valentine's Day to consider. How about just grabbing some popcorn and popping in a movie? Besides, now that the Super Bowl is over, long months of Sundays stretch into what seems like infinity. Or at least until September when the season gets underway again.  In any case, these are good movies for snuggling on the couch while it's still winter and snow blankets the ground. Sweet Home Alabama - Melanie is an upcoming fashion designer in New York City and is engaged to the mayor's handsome son. She's looking forward to marrying the man of her dreams ... as soon as she goes back to her hometown in Alabama to divorce her …
