Crime of the Week: Police Seeking Vandals

The Racine Police Department is asking for the public's help finding the suspects who damaged vehicles and the building of a local business.

Vandals who damaged vehicles and the building of a local business are being sought by the Racine Police Department. According to police reports, two male suspects - one black and the other white or Hispanic - damaged several vehicles and the building at Industrial Contruction & Associates at 1718 Layard Avenue. Witnesses told officers that when they arrived at work the morning of Sept. 8 they discovered the damage. The crime is estimated to have occured sometime after 10 p.m. on Sept. 7 or the early morning hours of Sept. 8. Both suspects are thought to be teenagers and one may have been injured during the commission of this crime. UPDATE: Teen Charged With Slashing Christmas Decorations, Four Others Arrested

Caledonia teens in hot water after they tried to deflate others' Christmas spirit.

UPDATE: The Caledonia Police Department arrested four Caledonia teens were arrested for possession of stolen property, criminal damage to property, and theft of moveable property in connection with this case. The arrests were reccommendations made to the Racine County District Attorney's Office and are still under review as of Friday, Dec. 16, 2011. We'll keep you posted on the status of these arrests. According to the Caledonia Police Department, the teens vandalized Christmas decorations at least 10 different homes.  Original story: A little boredom, a lot of free time, and a strong dislike of inflatable Christmas decorations landed at least one teen in trouble. I just picked up a copy of the report. It happened in multiple subdivisions. And the report also indicates the interviews were all recorded. My guess is police tend to write in their report what people tell them so whatever "inaccuracies" (whatever the kids lied to police about) occurred, will be brought to the forefront during the court process. POLICE BLOTTER: A Woman Has To Stay Put And Someone Stole Baby Jesus

The following information was supplied by the Caledonia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Someone tore down an outside security camera and put super glue in a door lock on a car parked at a residence in the 4600 block of Douglas Avenue sometime between 10 p.m. Dec. 2 and Dec. 3, 2011. The owner of the car couldn’t put her key into the lock. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Someone also put super glue into the locks on the building where her business is located, the woman told the police. The estimated damage to the car is $100. The woman had no possible suspects. Several lawn ornaments, including a baby Jesus from a nativity set, were taken sometime before 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 from the front yard of a residence in the 2800 block of Sumac Drive. CRIME BLOTTER: Vandals, Thief And Burglar Hit A Number Of Residences On Caledonia's East Side

The following information was supplied by the Caledonia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Someone took LED house numbers from a residence sometime between 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and 12:54 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 6500 block of Meadow Dale Lane. Damage was estimated at $110. A four-foot tall wooden fence was spray painted with the letters “S D” sometime between 9 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10:41 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 5700 block of Winstar Lane. Damage was estimated at $40. The rear window of a 1989 Mitsubishi Target was smashed sometime between 4 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 3200 block of Great Oakes Drive. Damage was estimated at $300. A window was smashed and spray-painted the building with the phrase “262 CREW” sometime before 8:27 a.m. Nov. 6 at the old Western Publishing building, 5945 Erie St. The estimated damage is $2,000. CRIME BLOTTER: Heroin Users Get Caught, And An SUV Gets Vandalized

The following information was supplied by the Caledonia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 2002 Honda CR-V was damaged at about 3 p.m. Oct. 30 in the parking lot of Premier Lawns Inc., 10518 Northwestern Avenue. According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, the owner of the car intended to sell it for $2,400, but then realized he had the car priced too low and he increased the price to $4,850. When he returned after increasing the price, someone smashed in the driver’s side door with their foot, kicked the rear driver’s side door and quarter panel, and ripped off the rear window wiper. The windshield was also cracked.There are no possble suspects, police are still investigating the incident. A man who didn’t score any heroin still got arrested for having drug paraphernalia at 12:26 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31 in the 9600 …

Caledonia Police Blotter: Who Messes With Nuns, Mailboxes and a Mustang?

Juveniles caught on tape committing vandalism, a sign isn't supposed to be sticking out of your car and well... the song of this Mustang is over.

Police news from the Caledonia Police Reports: God Really Was Watching Three cars belonging to the nuns living at the Siena Center, 5635 Erie St., were vandalized by a group of teens sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. Thursday, July 14. The maintenance staff told police a video surveillance camera caught the group walking through a parking lot, one of the boys picked up a wooden bench and threw it at the cars. Police are still investigating the matter. The Mailbox Smashing Continues A street post, and sign were taken out of the ground, and thrown onto the back window of a car at 5:58 a.m. Thursday July 14, 5380 Hunt Club Road in Wind Point.  A mailbox was also smashed on top of another car. UPDATE: Help Catch The Mailbox Smashers

At least five mailboxes in Caledonia died a horrible death. There are also reports of more mailbox mischief in Wind Point.

UPDATE: Wind Point Police say mail boxes were smashed in the 5000 block of Valley Trail at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25. The suspect vehicle is a silver four-door vehicle, possibly a Pontiac Grand Am, with left front end damage. Four males were in the car. Someone or a group of some bodies don’t like mailboxes very much and have taken to smashing them. Over the weekend, police in Caledonia noted at least five busted up mailboxes and there have been reports of fatal mailbox smashings in Wind Point as well.
