Horlick Teacher Enters Not Guilty Plea for Child Enticement

Thomas Adams waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday and plead not guilty to a single charge of child enticement.

Horlick High School gym teacher Thomas Adams plead not guilty Wednesday to a single charge of child enticement. Adams, 61, was charged Feb. 14 after a 15-year-old student reported that he made inappropriate comments to her about trading good grades for exposing herself to him. He appeared in court with his defense attorney, Pat Cafferty, and waived his preliminary hearing, which automatically binds him over for trial. In a clear voice, Adams confirmed that he had not been threatened to sign the waiver form, and he understood what the form explained. Child Enticement Suspect Sought

Racine police are asking for help locating a man they believe is trying to entice children to get into his vehicle. In at least one reported case, an intended victim said the suspect was using sexually-suggestive language.

Two boys in two separate incidents told police Thursday that a man in an SUV tried getting them to come into his car.  The first incident occured about 3:45 p.m., Racine police said in a release, when a 12-year-old boy was walking home from Starbuck Middle School, near Republic Avenue and Ohio Street. The boy told police a newer model, gold-colored Mercedes-Benz SUV pulled across the sidewalk, blocking his path. The boy told officers the driver made sexually-suggestive motions to the victim, and spoke with him briefly.  The boy ran away, and the vehicle left, heading south on 21st Street.  A few minutes later, a 17-year-old boy walking near 17th and Ohio streets reported a similar incident. Suspect Sought In Possible Child Enticement Case

Caledonia boy approached by man saying he was a neighbor and asked if the boy wanted a ride home. The boy's mother told police she wasn't sure if the man was just trying to be neighborly or if he had other intentions.

Police are searching for a suspect in a possible child enticement incident that happened sometime between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 11 on Prairie Crossing Drive and County Trunk Highway H. According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, a man approached a 14-year-old boy walking home from school on Prairie Crossing Drive. The boy told police that he saw a black pickup pass him, then the truck turned around and stopped where the boy was walking. “Are you Mason?” The man asked. After the boy told him no, the man said he knew him because he lived nearby and asked the boy if he wanted a lift home. The boy said no and the man drove off in his truck. Food Service Worker Allegedly Asks Elementary School Girls For Sex

Suspect tells two girls he thinks they're hot and he wants to have sex with them.

An employee with a food service company contracted by the Racine Unified School District is facing charges after he allegedly told two 12-year-old girls he wanted to have sex with them and touched them inappropriately on the playground. The girls were students at a daycare facility called TLC Childcare, which leases space at Gifford Elementary, 8332 Northwestern Ave. Leroy A. Williams, 24, of Racine, was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Wednesday with two counts of exposing a child to harmful descriptions, eight counts of bail jumping, one count of felony intimidation of a victim and one count of disorderly conduct. Man Charged With Stealing Coricidin, Girl's Bicycle

Suspect allegedly asks boys playing outside of Kmart if he can film them, then tries to sell them drugs he just stole from the store.

A 30-year-old Racine man is facing charges after he allegedly stole Coricidin from two Caledonia stores along with a girl’s bike and then asked several young boys if he could film them playing with a scooter. Charles E. Kirkpatrick was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of retail theft and 17 counts of bail jumping. If convicted, he faces up to 13 ½ years in prison and $180,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: A 11-year-old and his 14-year-old brother were with a friend outside of Kmart playing with a scooter when they saw Kirkpatrick come up to the store on a black bicycle, then park and walk inside. Person Of Interest Interviewed In Caledonia Child Enticement Case

Caledonia Police interview a person of interest in one child enticement case. They are still searching for a suspect in the second case.

A man, who offered a ride home to a neighbor girl during some bad weather, told police he meant no harm by the proposition. The unnamed man is a person of interest in a possible child enticement case that happened on Feb. 10 near Rachel Glen and Sandell Way. He turned himself in to the Caledonia Police Department on Saturday. Officials with the Caledonia Police Department released the following statement: The person was interviewed and it appears no harm was intended by the person of interest. The victim and her parents were notified and satisfied with the results. Caledonia Boy Offered A Ride Home, But Police Unsure Of Man's Intentions

Police are looking for information on the case.

A man offered a 14-year-old boy a ride at 3:15 p.m. July 25 at Max’s World Liquor & Grocery, 3217 Morris St. But Caledonia Police aren’t quite sure of the man’s intentions since the boy was carrying a bag full of groceries when he made the offer, said Investigator Lisa Seils. “He might have been well meaning,” Seils said. “We’re not sure. The kid had a soda and bag of groceries, and he said, ‘It looks like you have your hands full.’” Still, the case is being treated as a child enticement case. The man asked the boy if he needed a ride. The boy refused and said the man said he had to let his daughter’s dog out, who lives in Racine. The boy ran home and told his mother what had happened.
