That's funny - Walker won by 172,000 votes, and only got 53% of the vote. So not a mandate by anyone's standards, especially considering he outspent Barrett 8 to 1 and suppressed some of the college vote. Also, lots of folks said they were not for Walker but against the recall. I'd say Wisconsin is a 50-50 state just like the nation overall. The 99% I referred to was wealth distribution - it is proven that the top 1% have all the money (and as I said I am one of them as I make well over $250K a year, but unlike most 1% I believe in fairness and Christain values of helping those in need.)

Correct I know there was no voter ID yesterday - I was pointing out this "tactic" used by Republicans. Can you show me a case of prosecuted voter fraud in Wisconsin that makes voter ID necessary? I am also aware re-districting happens by both parties but it is more often used by Republicans to manipulate elections. Can you comment on the recently passed "28 day rule"? Are you denying that voter suppression is a Republican tactic? I could go back and point to specific comments at high levels in the Republian party that go back to at least Nixon forward if you'd like - but then again educate yourself (that means use a source other than Faux News!)

If you can produce proof of a single case of voter fraud that was proven, I will buy you dinner! Voter ID is about voter suppression and you know t. It is a Republican "fraud" on a national scale. Same as re-districting to get the results you want. So is passing a law right before this election to ensure college students votes wouldn't count (in case you're uninformed, the Republicans passed a law so students had to be at their voting address 28 days before voting, even though they knew colleges let out less than 28 days ago!). And how about "buying" an election with non-Wisconsin money - $30MM of outside money that Walker will now owe favors to - hello Koch Industries owning Wisconsin utilities for a penny! (Remember Walker put that provision in his budget to allow him to sell off Wisconsin assets for whatever he thought was fair with no oversight! It's true - check for yourself!) When Wisconsin is just a Corporate pawn and only he wealthy are surviving remember I told you so. (By the way I make over $300K a year, but I have a conscience and a brain!)

ReplyI have no problem accepting the true majority decision, however unlike most Republicans I like to see everyone get a vote. The voter suppression tactics - passing a law prior to this election to make students live at the place they vote for 28 days prior to voting when the Republicans did the math and knew colleges let out less than 28 days ago - calling people from Republican Party hQ and telling voters election was Wed. or your vote is already registered if you signed a recall petition - or the attempt to implement voter ID that discriminates against the poor and others who would most likely vote Democratic - to re-districting simply to ensure Republican victories - all prove Republicans don't really believe they can win on their policies alone! "Some say" this is called Communism where only the "ruling class" gets a vote - just saying!

ReplyActually money does unfortunately win elections. Wlaker had an 8 to 1 advantage in spending and most of that was not Wisconsin money! Walker only won by 172,000 votes and basically disenfranchised student voters by passing a bill right before the election requiring people to live where they were voting for 28 days prior to the election (colleges got out less than 28 days ago and the kids came home) - how convenient! Combine that with the calls to people telling them they did not need to vote if they already signed a petition or telling them to vote Wednesday proves Republicans can't win honestly. Voter suppression and buy elections as if everyone voted Repubs could never win any election! The 99% is too large!

Agreed - no problem with having college students voted where they live - but the 28 day rule seems like a pure attempt at voter suppression to me since it conveniently was passed before this election and allowed less days than were known to exist between the release of WI college students to voting day!
