Reply@ Brice Trumey...I don't think God needs to be defended ... you either have faith and believe or you don't ... that's not a cop out ... it's a personal choice...

@shutthefrontdoor...Who don't like "horsey people" ? Don't you think Caledonia is large enough for both? Isn't is possible to support business coming to Caledonia and also support the rural aspect of it too? I've asked this before and I'll ask it again, is NIMBY against all business moving into the community or are they just against Walmart?

@JW...the sad thing is, any citizen who is for Walmart can't even express it at the meetings...can you imagine the mayhem that would break out then? I think you would have to have a police escort out of the building. I don't think the NIMBY people wanted it on 4 Mile & 31 either...and for all those who think it should go out by the I94 corridor, who do you think is going to pay develop that area and bring water there? ahhhh... that would be us, the tax paying homeowner. We have lived in Caledonia for 35+ years, and it remains the same...anytime we have the opportunity for business growth, it never makes it past the "presenting it to the board" ..Couldn't we have an special election and see what the outcome would be?

Reply@ Ted Roeder... "That shiny brochure from Walmart makes it seem like 250 to 300 jobs will be from Caledonia, but really they'll be from north Racine, so put the Walmart in north Racine," What do you mean "they'll be from north Racine"? Who is "they" ...
@ Dale Miller... "I'm tired of this not-in-my-back-yard nonsense," he said. "But my point is that any development brings with it a need for increased services, and residential is the most of all." Can't figure out if you're in favor of bringing business to Caledonia or against it and more for leaving Caledonia "horse country" ?
In general.."Residents who attended the meeting were shushed more than once, and Village President Bob Bradley finally had to threaten to clear the room if there wasn't more order so the work group could get down to business." This is the reason I no longer attend these meetings, they turn into shouting matches and you can't even understand what is going on...and it's been said before and I'll say it again...The "not in my backyard" citizens are so concerned about the "bad element" that Walmart will bring in...and yet the "bad element" is already here disguised as "concerned citizens" ... -

Reply@Brice Trumey...I get it, you do not believe God exists because if he did he wouldn't allow evil to happen, and again, that's your choice...my question to you then is this... If you do not believe that God exists, then how can you blame Him for allowing this to happen? Who are you blaming...

Reply@ Brice Trumey....one can only assume from your comments posted on various articles, that you are an atheist, which I have no problem with, that is your choice....however when you comment "your god created this monster" I have to disagree with that...God didn't create this monster, God created man ... it is up to us as individuals how we choose to live our lives...God doesn't make us "evil, uncaring monsters" we choose that for our self. Again, I respect your choice of being a non-believer and it is not my intent to get into any type of religious war. This is neither the time or place for it, and everyone is entitled to their own "beliefs" or in your case "non-belief" ...

ReplyI can't even begin to imagine the horror this little guy had to endure at the hands of his mothers boyfriend. Shame on the mother for bringing this poor excuse of a human being into his life.

@Johnny, if DOT is expecting a back up all the way to Hwy 20, you might want to run Hwy 32 out of Oak Creek to where it splits into 31South...then take Hwy 31 south all the way into Kenosha...not sure where in Pleasant Prairie you're headed, but once in Kenosha you can head West on 142, 158, Hwy 50, Hwy C, or Hwy 165...any one of these will take you back to I94...and Hwy 31 is a pretty decent road to run...hope this helps ...
