About Paul

I'm a communications professional, a storyteller, a husband and a Dad.  A 20-plus-year Racine area resident, I've been a newspaper reporter/editor/columnist at the Racine Journal Times and the Milwaukee Business Journal.  I've also held public relations and communications positions with advertising agencies, PR firms, a Fortune 500 company and a school district.

My wife, Kathy, and I are the parents of two great kids, Allison, 15, and Dwight, 10. We're both active in our kids' schools and in our church, Faith Community located on Newman Road. I'm a member of the Kiwanis Club of West Racine and co-chair the marketing committee for the Kids First Fund, a program that raises money for classroom enrichment projects within our local public schools.

I hold a bachelor's degree in journalism from Drake University and a master's degree in journalism from Iowa State. Yup, I'm a transplant from the Hawkeye State. Before becoming a Cheesehead in 1989, I lived and worked in Iowa and Montana.

In my spare time (what's that?), I enjoy reading (and never get caught up), the circus (yup, even the clowns), trains (the real ones), the great outdoors and geocaching with the kids.

Sitting in Des Moines, about 1/2 mile from Drake, reading your bio. Oldest son went to Drake, now w/Bloomberg News in NYC. Younger son and daughter-in-law both went to Iowa State and live in DSM. Small world.
