Mark Your Calendar: Caledonia Safety Day Sept. 7

Fun, food, and demonstrations from Caledonia police and fire as well as a K9 officer unit are part of the 2013 Safety Days on Sept. 7.

The annual Safety Day takes over the Kmart parking lot Sept. 7 for a few hours of fun, demonstrations and more.

Caledonia Fire Chief Dick Roeder will once again brave the dunk tank; firefighters will demonstrate how they rescue people from cars with the Jaws for Life; the Winthrop Harbor K9 officer will show visitors how police dogs take down suspects and parents can get a Safe Kids ID for their little ones.

Additional attractions include:

  • Face painting
  • Bouncy houses
  • JoDon Farms petting zoo
  • Food and beverages provided by Danny's Meats
Safety Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kmart parking lot, 5141 Douglas Avenue.
