Calling All Artists, the Racine Art Guild Needs You

Group to hold fund-raiser for HALO.

Get those paintbrushes out the Racine Art Guild is hosting Art2, a fundraiser for HALO, the Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization.

For the third year, the Racine Art Guild is soliciting artists to purchase a six-foot by six-foot canvas for $10. They ask that artists create an original piece of art and donate it back to the Racine Art Guild Art2. The work will then be sold to raise money to donate to HALO. One hundred canvases will make up the overall art project with a theme called ‘Bravo Racine!’ The projects, which will feature favorite images of Racine, will be premiered during First Fridays on August 5 at Avenue Gallery and Frame, 402 Main St., and during the Starving Artist Art Fair on August 7 at Gateway-Racine campus, 1001 S. Main St. Cash prizes will be given for first, second, and third place winners of the people’s choice, which will be determined by a public vote.

For Artists interested in participating in this years Art2, contact Deedee Dumont at (262) 488-0496 or Kate Proeber at (262) 994-8827, or come to the March Art Guild meeting at 6:30 pm on March 10, 2011 at Wustum Museum, 2519 Northwestern Ave.
