Art in the Garden

Careers Industries’ fourth annual Art in the Garden runs from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at its Racine location, 3502 Douglas Ave.

The public is invited to view the vivid colors, surrealistic shapes and finite details of the paintings, drawings, scarves and other beautiful art that have captured the attention of local collectors and businesses.   Listen to music, taste wine, enjoy appetizers and purchase your own masterpieces. Artists created the works as part of Careers Industries’ Art & Soul program, offered through the organization’s Integrated Day Services.  The proceeds from works sold go to both the artists and to help fund the Art & Soul program.

More than $1000 worth of Careers Industries’ art has been sold this summer at popular area events including the Racine's Starving Artists, Douglas Avenue Business and Burlington Knights of Columbus Art and Craft Fairs.  Additionally, artwork is on display or for sale at local businesses.

Careers Industries’ Art & Soul program and the beautiful pieces their artists create demonstrate the contributions people with disabilities provide to our community and the importance of focusing on ability, not disability.  Come see for yourself Saturday, September 24 and join Careers Industries for Art in the Garden.

With centers in Racine and Burlington, Careers Industries enriches the lives of people with disabilities through work, care and community.
