Obamagate: The Reality of What These Four Scandals Mean

Either this Administration is defying the Constitution and abusing it's power, or they are just not that smart. we all need to pay attention to the scandals.

Benghazi.  The IRS.  Wiretapping Journalists.  And even Fast and Furious.  legitimate scandals?  Or a Republican witch-hunt?  One thing is for sure, times haven't been this interesting in Washington, D.C. since Watergate and the eventual resignation of President Richard M. Nixon.

To determine whether this is scandal or witch hunt, you must take the advice of "Deepthroat", the famed whistle-blowerof the Watergate scandal; "You must take the whole, not the pieces."  And that is the key.  It is the sum, not the parts, that makes this scandal.   Of particular notice should be the IRS targeting of conservatives, and the journalist wiretapping.  These two together show a chilling trend in D.C., especially this administration, that run parallel to the demise of Nixon.  Abuse of power for political gain, using government resources, is precisely what Watergate was all about.

Actually, the Justice Department has crossed the line of Watergate and have gone way beyond the scope of Watergate.  Wiretapping journalists who were simply doing their jobs and then charging them with aiding and abedding the enemy is outrageous. Using the Internal Revenue Service to target opposition political groups for harassment was something Nixon talked about, but never did.

Whether complacent, or incompetent, this is alarming and smells more like the old Soviet Union, or worse, Hitler's Germany.Benghazi and Fast and Furious, seem more like incompetence.  But the cover-up and denials remind me of when I caught my teenager doing something wrong; deny, deny, blame someone else.  It didn't work with me, and this will not work with the American people.

Let's look at the incompetence.  With Fast and Furious it is obvious.  No one in the world would think giving heavy armament to drug-lords was a good idea.  Someone made a bone-head decision.  In a scandal-free world, the head of Justice, Eric Holder, would have found out who gave the orders and they would have been terminated.  However, Holder stonewalled the investigation, with others in the Administration covering for him.  He refused to turn over documents to Congress, under subpoena.  He misled Congress in the hearings, and he tried to blame past Administration's for the bone-head decision.  Hmmm...deny, deny, blame.

Again to incompetence, Benghazi was much the same as Fast and Furious.  Someone made a bone-head decision not to have requested extra security for the Ambassador.  Everyone in their right mind would have granted the numerous requests, at least for the September 11th anniversary, especially in a country we recently helped in overthrowing their government.  In a scandal-free world, the head of the State Department, Hillary Clinton, would have found out who made the bone-head mistake, and would have terminated those responsible.   But a recently revealed email showed that talking points were made up, all the way up to the White House, to deflect the mistakes that were made.  This is far more than the talking points.

Both are classic cover-ups.  But what are they trying to cover?  Simple.  "You must take a look at the whole, not the parts."

Now to the real scandals.  It is obvious to everyone in the world that the IRS Scandal is and was done to silence the President's critics.  This is frightening because of the powers that the IRS has.  It is disturbing because of the consequences.  It flies in the very existence of the American way of life.  If the President ordered it, it could be paramount to treason.  And wait, it gets much worse...

The most offensive, if not the the most criminal, is the wiretapping of journalists who dare to challenge this President.  On top of it is the poor justification for doing so.  To subpoena the wiretapping under the guise of criminal activity, based on a potential leak of classified intel is laughable.  It is not the journalist that leaked anything.  It is the source.  The Deepthroat, if you will.  Clearly, this Administration is that arrogant, and or that corrupt.

Chicago-style political tactics of intimidation may fly in Chicago, but not in Washington, D.C.  It is clear to this writer, that the house of cards is about to fall.  As more and more whistle-blowers come forward to distant themselves from this corrupt and/or incompetent Administration, and they will.  The parts don't look good, but the whole looks far worse.  The whole looks like far more than scandal, but more like criminal for Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, and yes, Barrack Obama.
