Caledonia Company's Products Going International

EKG Concepts signed a contract that will allow its products to get into major hospitals in the United States and around the world.

A 3-year-old Caledonia company has finalized a contract that will allow its products to be distributed around the world.

EKG Concepts announced that WorldPoint is now the national and international distributor of its R-CAT (Rapid Cardiac Analysis Tool) products.

The tools are designed to help medical personnel accurately and rapidly identify EKG changes associated with heart attacks. This saves valuable time, reduces critical errors and helps initiate treatment, EKG Concepts Chief Executive Gary Krause said.

EKG, or electrocardiogram, is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of the heart.

According to a study, medical personnel fail to identify high-risk EKG anomolies in 1 in 8 people taken to the emergency room for a heart attack, making Krause's products particularly useful.

EKG Concepts has developed six new products over the course of the last two years. The WorldPoint contract allows the company to get its products into major hospitals, Krause said.

WorldPoint is a leading distributor of medical supplies and materials in the United States and around the world, with several distribution points in South America as well as Mexico, Spain, Poland and Dubai.

"With WorldPoint being an international and national distributor, this will help market our products around the world," Krause said.
