Where Will The New Home For Hitters Baseball Be?

As the participation for this club grew, they've outgrown their old space in Caledonia.

RJ Fergus, the owner of Hitters Baseball, wants to build a 50,000 square foot indoor baseball field in the Caledonia Industrial Park in Franksville.

The Village Plan Commission approved a concept plan Wednesday night. Fergus said he currently leases his current location at 4726 6 Mile Rd.; he hopes to finish the financing for the project and break ground on the five-acre parcel in August.

"We'll also have the option to purchase 35 acres down the road for a possible expansion," he said.

The baseball club competes in major baseball showcase tournaments and offers summer camps.

“We outgrew this place,” Fergus said. “We went from 150 to 600 participants.”

Fergus has run the organization for 17 years now. For the first 14 years we were private and the last three the organization has been open to the public. Players come from northern Illinois, Port Washington and Madison, Fergus said.

The next step in the project will be to have Fergus come back with more specific plans in front of the Plan Commission.
