Man Says Skype Sex Led to Attempted Blackmail

A Caledonia man reported to police Friday that he believes he is the victim of an attempted blackmail after a woman he met online said she filmed him masturbating.

Officers were called at 4:10 p.m. Friday for a report of a man being videotaped without his permission. When police arrived, the man told them he had recently subscribed to the online dating site, www.freelifetimedating.com, and received a request over Skype.

The man added the woman to his Facebook friends. He told officers he couldn’t remember her name but described her as a white female with blond hair. They had “webcam sex,” and when it was over, the woman told him she filmed him masturbating and that if he didn’t send $100 to an address in the Philippines, she would send a copy of the tape to all of his friends, the police report reads.

Police say the man deleted his Facebook account and tried to erase some files from his computer. He told officers he did not give the woman permission to film him and he did not send the money the woman demanded.
