Racine AAUW and Sentry Foods are holding a Community Baby Shower on Saturday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 5740 Washington Ave.

“The goal is to make a difference in the lives of women and children in Racine,” said Pat Anderson and Dottie Feeney, Racine AAUW members who are co-chairing the event.

The public is invited to donate items such as new baby clothes and blankets and diapers.  The donated items will go to organizations like the Racine Health Department’s Prenatal Care Coordination and Healthy Babies, Healthy Homes programs which target at risk populations, Teen Moms, Care Net, HALO and Foundations of Life.

Anderson and Feeney said the Community Baby Shower grew out of a Racine AAUW program meeting on infant mortality in Racine.
