OBITUARY: Robert D. "Bob" Breitsprecher

Bob Breitsprecher worked as an engineer for the Racine Unified School District, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was married for 57 years.

Robert was born in Racine on January 17, 1932 the son of Adelbert and Jessie (nee: Gross) Breitsprecher. He graduated from Horlick High in 1950 and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He served in the United States Army Artillery in Korea in 1952 and 1953. He married Violet Wichterman at Summerfield Methodist Church in Milwaukee on February 12, 1955. Bob worked as an electronic technician for Racine Unified School District, retiring in 1990. Robert was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed woodcarving, painting and vacationing in St. Germain. He was also very fond of his Golden Retriever, Maggie, and all his previous dogs.

Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vi Breitsprecher; children, Marc (Melissa) Breitsprecher of Grand Marais, MN and Lori (Gary) Martin of Racine; and grandchildren, Aaron and Jesse Breitsprecher. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie Street, with Pastor Rosalind Dryver-Scott officiating. Private inurnment will take place in Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Trinity United Methodist or charity of one's choice have been suggested.
