Brush Fire on Stonebridge Drive

Caledonia fire crews are responding and working on containing the fire.

Update 7:54 p.m.: The fire was put out by the firefighters. According to Lt. Gene Michaels, of the , the home owner is expected to receive a municipal citation because he was so far away from a water source that he could access to put the fire out if it had gotten out of control and he failed to notify the Village that he was burning the brush.

Update, 7:10 pm: The homeowner where a brush fire is being contained said he's been burning leaves and brush for years without a problem.

Update, 7 pm: A resident at 4544 Stonebridge Drive was burning leaves and other debris when the flames were noticed by a resident in a nearby apartment complex. According to fire crews on scene, the location of the fire is a 10 to 15-minute walk back from the home. While a brush truck is now at the location, crews cannot maneuver a full-size fire truck to the fire because of the vegetation.
