Former Cop's Mailbox Blown Up

Former cop says he doesn't know who blew up his mailbox, but it could have been anyone.

Someone blew up a mailbox belonging to a former deputy with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department at 12:36 a.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of Lexington Avenue.

The former deputy told police he heard what he thought was the sound of a gunshot and saw what he thought was someone lying in the street. But when he got a closer look, he realized that someone blew up his mailbox, which flew off and struck his garage door. The off-duty office told the officer with the Caledonia Police Department that he didn’t have any suspects, but said “anyone could have done this.”

Police will be devoting extra attention to the area.
