It's Beer-thirty Somewhere, But Not In Caledonia And Not For This Guy

Guy tells cops that he had to take a passenger in the vehicle to "get some beer."

An apparently parched man headed to his favorite gas station for beer in his car, and was arrested for weaving in and out of traffic and speeding 75 mph in a 35 mph zone at 11:56 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.

Brian Gronholm, 19, of Racine, was arrested for operating without a drivers’ license, underage drinking, speeding, and endangering safety by reckless driving.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Gronholm was weaving around traffic and not signaling before making the lane changes. Officer John Lewis stopped Gronholm at the Citgo gas station on Douglas Ave. and Shoreland. When he asked Gronholm why he was speeding, he said he had to take a passenger in the vehicle to β€œget some beer.”
