A 27-year-old Racine man is facing charges after he allegedly stole $7,000 worth of jewelry from his grandmother’s Caledonia home.
Thomas A. Frisco Jr. was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Friday with one count of theft of more than $5,000. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On June 17, Frisco was at his grandparent’s home in the 3900 block of Highcrest Drive for a Father’s Day celebration when his aunt spotted him going into a bedroom while everyone else was outside. Frisco has issues with heroin and his aunt knew he stole from other family members, so she checked her purse to make sure nothing was stolen.
Later on his grandmother went into her bedroom and discovered $7,000 worth of her jewelry was missing. Another family members confronted Frisco about the jewelry and he admitted to stealing it and pawning it in Racine.
Frisco also admitted to the theft when asked by police, but said when he binges on drugs he has a hard time remembering details. Frisco said he isn’t using heroin now, but most recently was using cocaine and crack.
He’s currently being held in Racine County Jail on $7,000 bond while awaiting trial.
