Partially Nude 2 AM Home Intruder an Unwelcome Thanksgiving Guest

A 35-year-old Caledonia man is accused of breaking into an area house clad in his underwear, then running upstairs and smashing the homeowner’s items.

Jeffery A. Kocourek was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Monday with one count of disorderly conduct, one count of criminal trespassing, one count of criminal damage to property and one count of bail jumping. If convicted, he faces up to 30 months in prison and $31,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At 2:25 a.m., Thursday, Mount Pleasant police officers were called to help the Caledonia Police Department after someone reported a man running down the road in his underwear on Highway 31. While officers were looking into the incident, they were called to a home in the 4200 block of Highway 31, where a caller said someone had just busted into the home, ran upstairs and began to smash items.

The caller’s daughter-in-law went upstairs to confron Kocourek, who talked with a police dispatcher on the phone and said there was no need for police at the home. Officers came anyway and went to the bottom of the stairs and yelled for him to come down.

Kocourek said men with guns and flashlights were chasing him, but he came down and sat on a couch. The people inside the home said they didn’t know Kocourek. However, he busted in through the back door, and ran upstairs, tossed a chair down the stairs. He also knocked over a television, smashed some items and broke an upstairs window after he tried to jump out of it.

Kocourek said he had been in his home in the 4600 block of Cobblestone when men had broke in and chased him with guns. Officers checked out the home and found nothing wrong.

Given the hallucinogenic remarks made by Kocourek, he was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where staff found he had a heart rate of 195 beats per minute at the time. Kocourek then told the officer he did two lines of cocaine at his home prior to the incident taking place.
