Police Investigating Home Invasion Burglary

Woman tells police a teenager ran off with her jewelry and electronic equipment on Wednesday.

A burglar allegedly took electronic equipment and jewelry while the homeowner was at home at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday in the 5500 block of Willowview Road.

The homeowner told police that her son was home sick from school and was sleeping on the second floor when she was at home doing laundry in the basement. She thought it was odd that she heard footsteps and as she got to the top of the steps, she saw the suspect, a teen-aged male, running from the residence.

A watch, gold ring with emeralds, Ipod, cell phone, video game player and several cases of DVDs were taken from the home.

The woman told police that she recognized the boy because he was standing near her mailbox the previous day and while she was calling the police, he left. The suspect also came to her house a third time asking for “Nicki,” but left when he saw the woman’s son. The woman’s son said he didn’t know the boy.

The woman told police that the male about 17 years old, was stocky looking, “neat” collar length blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a tight, long sleeved, red shirt.
