Teen Caught With Pills in Caledonia

Suspect is questioned by police officers on the lookout for people involved in theft on the northeast area of the village.

A 19-year-old Racine man is facing charges after he was caught riding his bicycle through Caledonia with Alprazolam pills in his pocket.

Jack D. Hall was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Friday with one count of possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, he faces up to 30 days in jail and $500 in fines.

At 1:04 a.m. Friday, a Caledonia police officer was on patrol on the northeast portion of the village and on the lookout for suspects believed to be involved is a series of thefts and burglaries in the area. He spotted a man near 5 ½ Mile Road and Novak Road smoking a cigarette and playing with a cell phone.

The officer asked the man what he was doing and he said he was sending a text to his girlfriend. While talking with the man, another man came riding up on a bicycle from a nearby driveway.

The officer found the men were Hall and a friend, who said they were at a friend’s house near Lakeshore Drive and had nothing to do with any thefts. Hall invited the officer to search him, which he did and found the pills in his pocket.
