Birdscaping: Attracting Wildlife To Your Garden Workshop

Although it’s the middle of January, seasoned gardeners know that it’s the ideal time to start thinking about your garden.  Led by Wisconsin native, Mariette Nowak, this workshop will teach green thumbs of all abilities how to improve the natural quality of their yards by creating an inviting habitat for birds as well as butterflies, bees, and bats.

Nowak, an expert in Midwestern flora and fauna, has been constructing natural landscapes for over 18 years.  Nowak believes that, “Gardeners can play a vital role in restoring and preserving native communities.”  Birdscaping will focus on creating a year long sustainable environment, from planting seed bearing plants to nourish Juncos and Cardinals in the winter, to building a simple bat house for the summer months.
