Racine Unified Proposal Would Eliminate 125 Jobs

But the proposal also recommends hiring 40 teachers.

Administrators with Racine Unified School District unveiled a proposal to the Board of Education that would offset a $7.5 million hole in their budget.

According to a story by the Racine Journal Times, the plan relies on a number of retirements and axing educational assistants and teachers, but at the end of the day the district will likely hire 40 teachers and they would skip putting $1 million into the district's rainy day fund.
