Boxing Tourney Needs Volunteer Physician

The Wisconsin Golden Gloves finals are supposed to happen in Racine this weekend, but without a physician, the tournament could be canceled.

The Wisconsin Golden Gloves state finals tournament is scheduled for this weekend, but without a physician volunteering in the next few days, state boxers could miss out on a chance to advance to nationals.

The physician, according to an article by The Journal Times, would give boxers pre-tournament exams and assess concussions or other bout-related injuries. The doctor is expected to be needed from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

About 36 men between the ages of 17 and 34 are set to compete at the tournament at the Bryant Center, the article states.
