BIRD WALK

A bird walk is planned for Saturday, May 7 sponsored by Caledonia Conservancy on their Trout Ponds/Prairie property located on the southwest corner of Hwy. 31 and 4 Mile Rd. at 8:00 am. The walk will be led by Rick Fair of Hoy Audubon. This is prime time for neo-tropical birds migrating from their southern hemisphere wintering grounds. Over 200 of these migrants will be breeding in Wisconsin and Canada. Warblers, vireos, flycatchers, tanagers, orioles, hummingbirds and some thrushes can be expected. In addition, many local birds such as cardinals, chickadees, bluebirds and herons may be seen nesting. Red-tailed hawks and turkey vultures may be seen patrolling the skies. This is an exciting time of year for bird watching. Bring binoculars! This event is free and open to the public. Meet at Trout Ponds/Prairie @ 7:45 a.m. For more email caledoniaconservancy@gmail.com or call Suzi at 262-498-4993.
