Will Local Politicians Sign Recall Petitions?

Many local officials have voiced their opinion on the recalls and whether or not they will be signing petitions.

According to The Racine Journal Times, Mayor John Dickert and County Executive Jim Ladwig will not be signing recall petitions for Governor Scott Walker and others. Local officials were asked if they would be participating in the recall efforts and while some, like Racine Alderman, Mike Shields, said they would sign, most said their non-partisan positions will keep their names off the petitions.

Names can be collected to force a recall until January 17, 2012. 540,208 signatures are needed to begin a recall of Governor Scott Walker.
